Latvia fast-track residence permit review
Expedited review of residence permit applications at OCMA (paid priority tariffs)
In short
OCMA does not sell a separate express service; instead Regulation No. 731 lets you choose a faster decision deadline by paying a higher state fee. A temporary residence permit is reviewed in 30 days for EUR 160, in 10 working days for EUR 280 or in 5 working days for EUR 560, and the permit card can be produced in 2 working days for EUR 80. For Schengen visas the Visa Code deadlines apply.

Urgent long-stay visa at OCMA
A long-stay D visa requested from OCMA normally costs EUR 90. If the application reaches OCMA less than three working days before your permitted stay in Latvia ends, the fee is doubled to EUR 180. This is a surcharge for late filing rather than a guaranteed faster service.
How to use the faster tariff
Pay the amount for the deadline you want before you submit, and enclose the payment document. For bank transfers to the State Treasury (account LV37TREL1060140918500, purpose citing Regulation No. 731 and the applicant’s name and date of birth) allow several days, because OCMA cannot start the service until the money reaches the Treasury and bank printouts are not accepted as proof. For accelerated services OCMA recommends paying by card at an OCMA division; card payments carry no commission for the applicant.
The faster deadlines apply to OCMA’s review. They do not shorten the sponsor’s call approval (two working days, five for employment cases, ten with extra checks), the embassy’s handling of your file or the D visa that you need to enter Latvia after approval.
- Decide which deadline you need: 30 days, 10 working days or 5 working days.
- Pay EUR 160, EUR 280 or EUR 560 (or the Blue Card or permanent residence tariff) to the State Treasury, preferably by card at OCMA.
- Submit the complete file with the payment document; an incomplete file is not processed faster.
- If you need the card quickly, pay EUR 80 for production within two working days.
Schengen visas
For Schengen visas the Visa Code deadlines apply: a decision within 15 calendar days, extendable to 45. The way to save time is to apply early, up to six months before travel.
