In short
Georgia's investment residence permit, often called its golden visa, is issued for five years to a foreigner who invests at least USD 300,000 in Georgia or owns non-agricultural property worth more than USD 300,000, and to their family. Investors on the business route must reach yearly turnover targets. Before the five years end, holders who meet the conditions can switch to a residence permit for indefinite stay.

Turnover targets on the investment route

Indefinite stay after five years
Before the five-year permit expires, the holder and family can apply for a residence permit for indefinite stay. Investors must show fifth-year turnover of at least USD 120,000; property owners must have kept the qualifying property for five years after the permit was granted, shown by a Public Registry extract. Otherwise the investment permit can be extended in three-year steps, up to 12 years.

The permit also covers the investor's spouse, minor children, persons fully dependent on the investor or disabled, and dependants recognised as legally incompetent. They apply with a copy of the investor's permit and proof of kinship.
