In short

The Cambodia e-Visa is issued online by the e-Visa Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on evisa.gov.kh. The Tourist e-Visa (T) costs USD 30 and the Ordinary e-Visa (E) USD 35; both are single-entry, valid for three months, allow a 30-day stay and are normally processed in three business days. Who can use the e-Visa

The e-Visa system is open to applicants from all countries for the Tourist Visa (T) and, since January 2023, for the Ordinary Visa (E). Since 1 August 2026 it also handles diplomatic (A), official (B) and courtesy (C) visas, which are free and can only be requested by authorised bodies. Citizens of visa-exempt countries, such as most ASEAN states, do not need it for short stays.

The service is run exclusively by the e-Visa Office in Phnom Penh; Cambodian embassies cannot check an e-Visa application or answer for its outcome.

Ports that accept the e-Visa

Entry on an e-Visa is possible only at Techo International Airport (KTI, Phnom Penh), Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI), Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS, not for cruise ships), the Bavet checkpoint on the Vietnamese border and the Tropaeng Kreal border post on the Lao border. Other crossings with Vietnam and Laos are open but do not accept the e-Visa for entry.

Cham Yeam and Poipet are listed as closed for e-Visa entry, and Cambodian missions report that all land crossings with Thailand are closed until further notice. If your route uses a port that does not accept the e-Visa, obtain a visa through an embassy or on arrival instead.

Fees and payment

Following a government decision to streamline the e-Visa and e-Arrival systems, the fees were cut on 1 January 2025: the T e-Visa from USD 36 to USD 30 and the E e-Visa from USD 42 to USD 35. The amount is charged online during the application, by card (the system lists Visa and MasterCard) or other gateways shown at checkout.

Under the e-Visa terms, fees for paying categories are non-refundable once processing has begun, and the Ministry may revise fees or exemptions at any time. Only pay on evisa.gov.kh, the official site operated by the Ministry.

How the online application works

The form has five stages: security check, application, review, payment and completion. A passport reader can fill in the data from an uploaded image of the passport. Group applications are possible: at the review stage you can add further forms, up to 10 applications at a time.

The approved e-Visa is e-mailed to you and can also be downloaded under Check & Change. Since 1 August 2026 the certificate carries a QR code instead of a barcode, which anyone can scan to verify it. If you need to replace the photo after submitting, e-mail it to info@evisa.gov.kh with your reference number.

  1. Check that you will enter through one of the five e-Visa ports and that your passport has more than six months left.
  2. Open the Application page on evisa.gov.kh (or the official app) and pass the security check.
  3. Choose Visa T or Visa E, upload the passport image and photo and complete the personal and travel details.
  4. Review all entries, add further applicants if travelling as a group, then pay USD 30 or USD 35 per person.
  5. Wait about three business days and download the e-Visa from the e-mail or from Check & Change.
  6. Submit the free e-Arrival form within 7 days before travel and show the e-Visa at immigration.

At the border and after entry

Show the e-Visa to the immigration officer and travel on the same passport the visa was issued for. All travellers must also complete the free Cambodia e-Arrival form, ideally within 7 days before arrival. Arriving visitors receive a digital v-Pass by e-mail in place of the ink stamp.

The 30-day stay starts when you pass immigration. A T visa can be extended once inside Cambodia; an E visa can be turned into an E-class extension of stay (EB, EG, ER or ES).

Frequently asked questions

Can a Cambodian embassy check my e-Visa status?

No. Status checks are done online under Check & Change; embassies do not handle e-Visa applications.

I am not sure which land border I will use. What should I do?

Not all checkpoints accept the e-Visa. If you may use one that does not, get a visa on arrival there or apply through an embassy instead.

Can I travel on a different passport from the one in my application?

No. You must travel with the passport for which the e-Visa was issued.

Is the fee refunded if the visa is refused?

The terms state that fees are non-refundable once processing has started, unless the Ministry decides otherwise.

Is there an express e-Visa service?

No paid express option is published; the standard processing time is three business days, so apply well before travel.
