For studies, it lasts as long as the school year; for internships, training or research, the length of that activity.

How much money you need
Means are expressed as a share of the Andorran minimum wage: 100 % for each adult living in the household and 70 % for each minor. The monthly minimum wage has been EUR 1,568.66 since 1 July 2026 under Decree 253/2026 (CASS circular), so this means EUR 1,568.66 a month per adult and EUR 1,098.06 per minor. Employees prove it with their last three payslips and a CASS points statement; everyone else with a bank solvency certificate and a sworn income statement.
How the application is handled
The Immigration Service of the Government of Andorra handles the file and receives the public Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 13:00, by appointment only; the general government line is +376 875 700. When the documents are presented, the Service gives you a date and time for the medical check at the Immigration Medical Service on the next working day, and you do not need to fast for it. If every requirement is met, the initial authorisation is issued the day after the medical check.
Andorra has no visa of its own, and the Government states that anyone who has stayed more than 90 days in any 180-day period in the Schengen area is not in a regular situation there and cannot obtain any Andorran immigration authorisation. Leaving for a few days to a non-Schengen country does not reset the count.
- Enrol at a recognised Andorran institution.
- Arrange insurance, accommodation and funds.
- Apply for authorisation F at the Immigration Service.
- Attend the immigration medical check on the next working day.
- Renew each year with procedure F.1.
Renewal
Continuing studies are covered by a renewal request (procedure F.1). Foreign documents must be apostilled or legalised.
The renewal is filed with the Immigration Service before the authorisation expires, and is granted only if you have studied and lived in Andorra solely for your studies. It requires the renewal form, passport, a recent photo, proof of accommodation (with a sworn statement from the owner if the housing is not yours), the means described above and the new enrolment and course calendar. If the health policy does not exceptionally cover the whole period, you sign a sworn statement promising to renew it until the authorisation expires.
Minors
For a minor, the legal representative completes and signs the application, provides a copy of their passport, gives express authorisation for the minor to study in Andorra naming the Andorran or resident person or institution entrusted with custody, and that custodian accepts in writing. The Immigration Service may call the custodian to confirm acceptance.
