Andorra seasonal work permit
Temporary immigration authorisation (G.1), including the winter season
In short
Andorra's temporary immigration authorisation (G.1) lets a newcomer live and work in the country for a season fixed in advance by the quota regulation, which sets a separate number of places for each sector. It requires a fixed-term contract with a company legally established in Andorra and accommodation there, and it does not allow family reunification. The holder must leave within eight days of its expiry or regularise their situation.

Who can apply
Any newcomer can apply who fits within the quota established by regulation, holds a fixed-term employment contract with a company legally constituted in Andorra and establishes temporary residence there, with accommodation in the Principality. The number of authorisations is limited by the quota regulation for each sector, and the regulation also fixes the season of the year the authorisation covers. Non-EU nationals must prove they are lawfully present in the Schengen area.
The Government's note on the winter season asks for a CV showing suitable training or two years of professional experience related to the job. The criminal record certificates must be legalised and must not contain any entries.
Documents
The file includes the application form signed by the worker and the hiring company, the original and a copy of a valid passport, criminal record certificates from the country of origin, nationality and residence with a sworn statement, a recent 35 x 45 mm colour photo on a white background, proof of accommodation (lease, title deed or a certificate of lodging in a public establishment, plus a residence certificate if the housing is not in your name), proof of civil status, a CV with diplomas, the employment contract, the notification of the order to leave the territory, the visa record ("diligència de visat"), the signature document, a CASS points statement if you have worked in Andorra before, and the medical check consent. Foreign official documents need the Hague apostille or legalisation.

How the application is handled
The Immigration Service of the Government of Andorra handles the file and receives the public Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 13:00, by appointment only; the general government line is +376 875 700. When the documents are presented, the Service gives you a date and time for the medical check at the Immigration Medical Service on the next working day, and you do not need to fast for it. If every requirement is met, the initial authorisation is issued the day after the medical check.
- Secure a fixed-term contract with an Andorran company within the sector quota.
- Apostille or legalise your criminal records and other foreign documents.
- File the G.1 application with the Immigration Service, by appointment.
- Attend the immigration medical check on the next working day.
- Leave Andorra or regularise your situation within eight days of expiry.
When the season ends
As part of the file you sign a written commitment to leave the territory once the authorisation expires. After expiry you have eight days to leave Andorra or regularise your situation; anyone who stays on without doing either is in an irregular situation, cannot obtain any immigration authorisation and is subject to administrative police measures. If you leave Andorra but remain in the Schengen area beyond 90 days, you are irregular there and cannot obtain another Andorran authorisation.
From seasons to a residence and work permit
A person who later wants the residence and work authorisation (A.1) must show higher education or equivalent and/or six years of experience in the occupation. Seasons already worked in the same occupation for an Andorran company reduce that requirement: one season leaves five years to prove, two seasons four, three seasons three, four seasons two, five seasons one, and six seasons none. A winter season counts with at least four full months in the occupation, a summer season with three full months.
