Who qualifies

The e-Visa system lists four DTV purposes: workcation for digital nomads, remote workers, foreign talent and freelancers; Thai soft-power activities such as Muay Thai, Thai culinary training or medical treatment; voluntary work without salary for foreign foundations or associations permitted to operate in Thailand; and spouses and children under 20 of DTV holders. Applicants submit proof of permanent residence in the country where they apply, and the application goes to the Thai embassy or consulate responsible for that country.

Financial and other requirements

You need bank statements for the last three months from any bank with a minimum balance of THB 500,000 or equivalent, or sponsorship letters, and a criminal record certificate from your country of nationality or the country where you apply. Workcation applicants add an employment contract or certificate from their country, or a professional portfolio showing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status; soft-power applicants add confirmation from the course provider or a hospital appointment letter.

On arrival and during your stay

Your permitted stay is stamped by the immigration officer on arrival. Foreigners staying in Thailand for more than 90 days must report their address to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days, except for categories with special rules such as LTR holders, who report once a year. Extensions of stay are handled by Immigration Bureau offices inside Thailand.

Family members

Spouses and children under 20 apply in the same DTV category with the main holder's DTV, proof of relationship such as a marriage or birth certificate, their own proof of residence, a criminal record certificate and financial evidence of THB 500,000.
