Who qualifies

The status is for foreigners who will carry out lucrative activities in Peru, as employees or independently, in the public or private sector, on the basis of an employment contract, an administrative relationship or a contract for services. The contract must run for at least one year; if it includes a trial period or is shorter, Migraciones handles it as a worker temporary status. You must be outside Peru when you apply and have no police, criminal or judicial records in your country of origin or countries of prior residence.

Contract and employer documents

The core document is a copy of the employment contract approved by the labour authority (except where the law exempts it), issued no more than 30 calendar days before and stating a term of one year or more. The employer's legal representative signs a sworn declaration naming you; if the person who signs the contract is not the general manager, the declaration must cite the registry entry showing their power to hire. The contracting company must have an active tax number (RUC) and be registered with Sunarp.

Add the Migraciones form, the receipt number and date of the fee payment, a copy of your valid passport, and a certificate showing no criminal, judicial or police records for the five years before arriving in Peru, apostilled or legalised and translated by a certified translator.
