The investment
Migraciones asks for a document proving an investment equal to or above the amount set by migration rules; its change-of-status page puts that amount at S/ 500,000. The money must arrive by international transfer, in a single disbursement, through a bank or financial institution supervised by the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance (SBS).
For a new company, add a copy of the public deed of incorporation, no more than three months old. For a capital increase in an existing company, add the public deed of the increase, signed within the last three months, proof of filing and payment of the company's latest annual income tax return showing that it operated in the previous tax year, and the number of its municipal operating licence and the municipality that issued it. The company and any capital increase must be registered with Sunarp.
Applying, arriving and renewing
Apply in the Migraciones Agencia Digital while outside Peru, selecting the office nearest your future home and paying the fee with code 07567 at Banco de la Nación. The decision is sent to your Buzón Electrónico within 30 working days. After entering Peru on the approved visa, apply for the carné de extranjería (S/ 24.00) with an Interpol international exchange record issued within six months. Residence is granted for 365 days and can be extended.
After three consecutive years as a resident investor, you can request permanent resident status if your income tax return shows gross annual income of at least S/ 55,000, the company is up to date with taxes and social security (EsSalud), and its payroll for the last three months shows ten jobs for Peruvians.
- Incorporate the company or approve the capital increase and register it with Sunarp.
- Transfer at least S/ 500,000 from abroad in one disbursement through an SBS-supervised bank.
- Collect the deeds, bank proof and your apostilled, translated criminal record.
- Pay the Migraciones fee (code 07567) and apply in the Agencia Digital from abroad.

Family members
The investor status covers the investor only. A spouse, registered partner, children and parents apply for the family resident status as relatives of a foreign resident, which Migraciones grants for one year at a time and which allows them to work as employees or independently. The investor must hold valid residence and up-to-date data with Migraciones when relatives apply, and each relative pays the S/ 58.80 fee and submits a five-year criminal record certificate.
