The visa costs KWD 3, is single entry, valid for 30 days and allows a 30-day stay; a multiple-entry visit visa valid up to one year is also available.

Who the business visa is for
The ministry describes the business visa as an entry permit for people visiting Kuwait on business: attending meetings or conferences, or building partnerships with local companies. It is not a job visa. Government officials on official business use the separate government visa, which is requested by the host government body.
The role of the Kuwaiti company
A local company must apply and supply proof of the business purpose of the visit. Companies first register with the Ministry of Interior through its company registration e-service and then log in to the Kuwait Visa platform with an organisation user ID or Civil ID. The platform shows the organisation's number, type and expiry date and refuses the request if the company is not eligible to sponsor a visa or if visa services have been suspended for it.
The company uploads the visitor's passport, photo and supporting proof documents, which can include education documents. As with other visit visas, the visitor's passport must be valid for at least six months.
Single and multiple entry
The standard business visit visa costs KWD 3, is valid 30 days from issue and allows one stay of up to 30 days. For repeat visitors the ministry issues a multiple-entry visit visa: its validity is up to one year from issue as printed on the permit, each stay is limited to 30 days, and the fee is KWD 3 plus KWD 1 for every month of validity. The application form offers periods of one, two, three, six and twelve months, so a 12-month permit costs KWD 15 under that formula.
Rules during the visit
Business visitors must leave when the permitted stay ends. Overstaying a visit visa costs KWD 10 per day. An extension, if granted by the authorities, is charged at the same fee as the original visa.
Nationals on the tourist visa list who travel only for meetings may find the tourist visa simpler, since it is available online or on arrival; the business visa is the route when the Kuwaiti partner sponsors the visit or when a multiple-entry permit is needed.

Frequently asked questions
Can I apply for a Kuwait business visa myself?
No. The ministry requires a local company to apply with proof of the business purpose. Individuals can only apply themselves for the tourist visa.
How much is a 12-month multiple-entry visa?
The ministry's formula is KWD 3 plus KWD 1 per month, so twelve months comes to KWD 15. Each stay is still limited to 30 days.
Can I sign contracts or work on a business visa?
Meetings, conferences and partnership talks are the stated purposes. Employment is not allowed on a visit visa; working in Kuwait requires a work entry permit and residency.
What does the government visa cover?
It is for officials and government employees on official business such as conferences or bilateral meetings, issued on an official invitation from the host government. It costs KWD 3 and follows the 30-day visit rules.
