Brunei dependant visa (family reunification)
Dependant Visa and Pass (Visa dan Pas Tanggungan)
In short
Brunei's dependant visa is issued to the wife and children under 18 of a man working in Brunei. Applications use Form 25 and are processed, together with re-entry visas, extensions and cancellations of dependant passes, by JIPK's Foreign Work Pass Division; the pass depends on the worker's own work pass.

Key facts
- Work
- No; working requires a separate visa and work pass
- Family
- Wife and children under 18 of a husband working in Brunei
- Where to apply
- Through the sponsoring worker or employer at JIPK's Work Pass Division in Brunei
Who qualifies
The MFA defines the dependant visa as a visa issued to the spouse and children under the age of 18 whose husband is working in Brunei Darussalam. The dependant's status follows the principal's work pass: dependant passes are extended, cancelled or re-validated for re-entry through the same JIPK division that handles the work pass.
Supporting documents
JIPK's website publishes Form 25 but not a separate list of supporting documents for dependant passes, so ask the Foreign Work Pass Division or the sponsoring employer for the current checklist before applying. As with other JIPK applications, incomplete files are not processed and documents in languages other than Malay or English must be accompanied by an official translation.

- Make sure the principal holds a valid employment visa and work pass.
- Complete Form 25 for each dependant.
- Ask the Work Pass Division or the employer for the current checklist and submit the form to JIPK.
- Have the dependant visa endorsed in the passport as instructed in the approval.
- Apply for re-entry visas before travelling and extend the pass with the work pass.

Extensions and re-entry
Dependant passes are extended together with the principal's work pass using the work pass extension and registration forms. Holders who travel abroad need a re-entry visa, which the same division issues. When the work pass is cancelled, the dependant pass is cancelled through the same procedure.
