Argentina business visa and TIE 24 H electronic entry

Business visa and electronic entry procedure TIE 24 H (Tramitación de Ingreso Electrónica)

In short

Business travellers from visa-required countries apply at an Argentine consulate for a business visa, which costs USD or EUR 200 and allows stays of up to 60 days. Nationals of countries exempt from the tourist visa can request the online electronic entry procedure TIE 24 H for professional, artistic, business and study activities, complemented by a step at the Argentine consulate they choose.

Which route applies

The Cancillería describes two routes. Citizens of countries that require a visa apply for a business visa at any Argentine consulate. Citizens of countries that are exempt from the tourist visa can use the TIE 24 H, an online procedure for professional, artistic, business and study activities that starts in the DNM's RaDEX system and continues with the Argentine consulate you choose.

Business visa requirements

The consulate asks for a passport valid for at least 6 months with a blank page, two 4x4 cm photos, the FSV form, an invitation letter from a host registered in the national register of foreigners' sponsors (RENURE) describing your details, the activity and the length of stay, proof of your commercial or employment activity at home, a return ticket reservation, accommodation, and an interview. The fee is USD or EUR 200.

The business visa can be processed at any Argentine consulate, not only the one for your place of residence; the process is personal and starts by contacting the consulate for an appointment.

TIE 24 H fees

The DNM fee table sets 120 consular units for the electronic entry procedure in the subcategories covered by DNM dispositions 1170/2010, 1171/2010 and 2692/2011, and 80 consular units for the other special-reasons subcategories, in both cases complemented by a consular action that is charged separately.

How TIE 24 H works

Start the procedure online through RaDEX's entry permit steps, then contact the Argentine consulate you chose to complete the consular stage.

A host that is not yet registered in RENURE must write to requirentes@migraciones.gov.ar to register. The foreign ministry recommends not buying tickets until the visa has been granted, and meeting the listed requirements does not guarantee one.

  1. Check in the DNM visa regime table whether your nationality is visa-exempt for tourism.
  2. Visa-exempt nationals: start the TIE 24 H in RaDEX and contact the chosen consulate.
  3. Visa-required nationals: book an appointment for the business visa at a consulate.
  4. Ask your Argentine host, registered in RENURE, for the invitation letter.
  5. Attend the consular step, pay the fees and travel once approved.
