France: visa decisions in Singapore
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 9,885 | 9,125 | 612 | 6.3% | 40.4% |
| 2024 | 9,450 | 8,421 | 847 | 9.1% | 33.8% |
| 2025 | 9,316 | 8,512 | 739 | 8.0% | 35.1% |
In 2025, France’s embassy and consulates in Singapore (Singapore) received 9,316 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 8,512. 8.0% of applications were refused. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 9.1%. The number of applications was almost unchanged (9,450 in 2024).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.1% of the applications lodged in Singapore that year, from 0.4% at the consulates of Belgium to 10.3% at those of the Netherlands. France’s consulates worldwide refused 14.2%. France was the most applied-for Schengen state in Singapore.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Singapore, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
