Key facts

Where to apply
At a Venezuelan embassy or consulate before travelling

Who needs it

According to the requirements published by Venezuela's foreign service, the transit visa is granted to travellers whose itinerary includes a stopover in Venezuelan territory, that is, non-migrants who enter or cross the country to go to another country. The requirements are to be a foreigner, to be a non-migrant travelling on to another country and to be a national of a country with which Venezuela has no visa suppression, and to pay the consular fee. Travellers whose nationality does not need a tourist visa do not need this visa either.

Documents

The consular page lists the completed visa application form, the original passport valid for at least six months, two recent colour ID-size photos taken from the front, a bank letter showing the account opening date, number and balance, an employment letter with length of service, position and salary, and proof of real estate, commercial, business or industrial property.

It also asks for a photocopy of the ticket in and out of Venezuela or of the itinerary, a medical certificate from the health authority of the country of origin, proof of payment of the fees (when paid by transfer, deposit or payment gateway) and a hotel booking or letter of invitation.
