Morocco Electronic Travel Authorization (AEVM)

Electronic Travel Authorization to Morocco (AEVM)

In short

The AEVM (Autorisation Électronique de Voyage au Maroc) is a pre-travel authorization that Morocco requires from a small group of otherwise visa-exempt nationalities: the ministry's list marks Mali, Congo (Brazzaville) and Guinea (Conakry). It is requested on Accès Maroc with a photo and the passport data page, is sent by email once accepted, and is not needed by travellers aged 55 or over.

Who needs the AEVM

On the Foreign Ministry's exemption list, three entries carry the AEVM note: Mali, Congo (Brazzaville) and Guinea (Conakry). The Accès Maroc eligibility check decides: it tells you that you are exempt, must file an AEVM request, or need an e-Visa or consular visa. Travellers aged 55 or over need no authorization.

What the form asks for

Two uploads are mandatory: a photo and the passport's first (data) page; only ordinary passports are accepted. The form also asks for the purpose of the trip, who pays for it, the planned border post of entry or transit, and the host company or a hotel or temporary address in Morocco. Event visitors give the registration number; transit passengers state whether they hold entry authorization for the final destination.

Filing the request

Create an account on Accès Maroc, open a new AEVM request, enter the details and attach the two files. Before submitting you tick every travel condition, confirm that you have read the entry conditions to Morocco and certify that your statements are true. A passport can have only one AEVM request in progress at a time.

  1. Run the eligibility check on Accès Maroc with your nationality and age.
  2. If the portal asks for an AEVM, create an account and open a travel authorization request.
  3. Enter your details and upload the photo and the passport data page.
  4. Add requests for any companions under 55 before validating the file.
  5. Tick the travel conditions, certify the declaration and submit.
  6. Track the request, reply to any consular contact and download the AEVM from the email.

Forms

Processing and tracking

No processing time is published; the portal says the consular post will contact you after receiving the documents, so file well ahead. Track the request with the file number and your email. Once accepted, the AEVM is downloaded from the email you receive; show it with your passport at boarding and at the border.

Travelling as a family or group

Each traveller under 55 needs their own authorization, but companions can be added as extra requests in one file. Add everyone before validating: once the file is validated, no further requests can be attached and a new file is needed.

False statements

Any false statement leads to rejection, or cancellation of an issued authorization, and may lead to prosecution, as the form's declaration states. The AEVM does not replace the border check.

Getting help

Use only acces-maroc.ma; the ministry warns that intermediary sites are not run by the Moroccan government. The portal refers applicants with problems to the central consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reachable on +212 537 66 33 00.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AEVM the same as the e-Visa?

No. The AEVM is an authorization for nationalities that are otherwise visa-exempt but must register before travel; the e-Visa is a visa for visa-required travellers.

Which nationalities need an AEVM?

Nationals of Mali, Congo (Brazzaville) and Guinea (Conakry), the three entries on the exemption list that carry the AEVM note, unless they are aged 55 or over.

I am over 55. Do I still apply?

No. The portal states that travellers aged 55 or over do not need a travel authorization.

Can I put my children in my AEVM file?

Yes. Add a separate request for each companion in the same file, and do it before you validate it.
