Lithuania’s embassies and consulates outside the Schengen area received 42,543 short-stay visa applications in 2025, the 23rd highest number among the 28 Schengen states, and issued 35,585 visas. The refusal rate was 14.4%. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 14.1%. Applications rose by 27% compared with 2024 (33,532).

The busiest countries were Armenia (13,872), Kazakhstan (8,858), Belarus (4,138), the United Kingdom (3,735) and Azerbaijan (3,436). Among the ten busiest, refusal rates ranged from 2.7% in Armenia to 35.9% in Egypt.
