Lithuania: visa decisions in Turkey
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2,411 | 1,541 | 860 | 35.8% | 59.5% |
| 2024 | 3,044 | 2,063 | 960 | 31.7% | 60.3% |
| 2025 | 3,292 | 2,119 | 1,167 | 35.5% | 54.3% |
In 2025, Lithuania’s embassy and consulates in Turkey (Ankara) received 3,292 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 2,119. 35.5% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 31.7%: the rate rose by 3.8 points. Applications rose by 8% compared with 2024 (3,044).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 14.6% of the applications lodged in Turkey that year. Lithuania’s consulates worldwide refused 14.4%. Lithuania was the 24th most applied-for Schengen state in Turkey.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Turkey, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
