Poland: visa decisions in Ukraine
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 1,077 | 1,004 | 73 | 6.7% | 43.9% |
| 2024 | 1,288 | 928 | 357 | 27.4% | 43.1% |
| 2025 | 1,092 | 990 | 101 | 9.0% | 48.5% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Ukraine (Lviv and Lutsk) received 1,092 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 990. 9.0% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 27.4%: the rate fell by 18.4 points, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications fell by 15% compared with 2024 (1,288).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 10.7% of the applications lodged in Ukraine that year, from 5.2% at the consulates of Romania to 23.9% at those of France. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 3rd most applied-for Schengen state in Ukraine.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Ukraine, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
