Poland: visa decisions in Hong Kong
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 154 | 152 | 2 | 1.3% | 7.2% |
| 2024 | 104 | 100 | 4 | 3.8% | 10.0% |
| 2025 | 149 | 145 | 3 | 2.0% | 51.0% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Hong Kong (Hong Kong) received 149 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 145. The refusal rate was 2.0%. The refusal rate fell by 1.8 points from 3.8% in 2024. Applications rose by 43% compared with 2024 (104).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 2.8% of the applications lodged in Hong Kong that year, from 0.4% at the consulates of Spain to 11.6% at those of Austria. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 11th most applied-for Schengen state in Hong Kong.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Hong Kong, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
