Croatia: visa decisions in Chile

YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 1971217236.0% 51.2%
2024 57302644.1% 20.0%
2025 1081074831.0% 24.3%

In 2025, Croatia’s embassy and consulates in Chile (Santiago) received 108 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 107. The refusal rate was 31.0%. The refusal rate fell by 13.1 points from 44.1% in 2024, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications rose by 89% compared with 2024 (57).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 27.2% of the applications lodged in Chile that year. Croatia’s consulates worldwide refused 18.5%. Croatia was the 4th most applied-for Schengen state in Chile.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Chile, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
