Greece: visa decisions in Albania
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 224 | 178 | 14 | 6.5% | 47.2% |
| 2024 | 149 | 128 | 10 | 6.8% | 39.1% |
| 2025 | 164 | 157 | 5 | 3.1% | 31.8% |
In 2025, Greece’s embassy and consulates in Albania (Tirana and Korçë) received 164 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 157. 3.1% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 6.8%: the rate fell by 3.8 points. Applications rose by 10% compared with 2024 (149).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.4% of the applications lodged in Albania that year. Greece’s consulates worldwide refused 14.5%. Greece was the 4th most applied-for Schengen state in Albania.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Albania, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
