Tourist visa (Togo Voyage eVisa)
In short
Visitors to Togo apply online for a tourist visa on the official Togo Voyage platform before travelling. It covers tourism and attending meetings, fairs, seminars and conferences on invitation, costs XOF 25,000 to 65,000 depending on length of stay and entries, and is processed in up to five working days. There is no visa on arrival, and a visa does not give the right to paid work.

Who needs it
As a rule, all foreigners need a visa to enter Togo unless exempt. Exemption depends on nationality (the country that issued the travel document), passport type and holding a Togolese residence card or diplomatic card. ECOWAS citizens are exempt. The platform's visa assistant shows whether you need a visa, which type and its price.
Documents
Mandatory: the online application form, a scan of the first three pages of a passport valid at least three months beyond the visa requested, a recent photo and, if arriving by air, a flight booking or ticket. Strongly recommended: travel insurance, a hotel booking or a certificate of accommodation from the town hall or prefecture, an invitation letter and a bank statement showing sufficient funds.

Applying on Togo Voyage
Create a Togo Voyage account with a valid email address and phone number, which receive the one-time login codes and the electronic travel slip. Use the visa assistant to check whether you need a visa, fill in the forms, upload the documents and pay by Visa or Mastercard or by Flooz or T-Money mobile payment. Notifications confirm receipt, processing, approval or rejection. Apply no more than 90 days before entry. Under Law No. 2022-005, visa applications are made online unless the platform is inaccessible, and embassies no longer accept them except in that case.
- Create a Togo Voyage account and run the visa assistant.
- Fill in the immigration form and the visa application.
- Upload documents and pay by card or mobile money.
- Wait for approval by email, at least five working days before travel.
- Carry the immigration slip and passport at the border.
At the border and extensions
Present the passport used for the application, the immigration slip with its QR code and visa bar code, and the yellow fever card if required; immigration may also ask for accommodation and a return ticket. Automatic express approvals can still lead to refusal or removal if checks reveal problems. To extend in Togo, go to the Direction Générale de la Documentation Nationale (DGDN) with your travel document and visa slip.
Refusals and penalties
A refused applicant must submit a new application to travel, and the processing fee is not refunded; no correction is possible after the form is submitted and paid. The law lets the authorities refuse a visa for false information, insufficient funds, unmet requirements, a previous misuse of a visa, criminal links or a threat to public order. A traveller who reaches the border without a visa can be turned back or, if allowed to apply there, pays a fine of XOF 400,000 plus the visa price; a late visa extension can be fined XOF 250,000.
