Kyrgyzstan e-visa: how to apply online

Citizens of certain countries are eligible if they meet the criteria shown after choosing country, travel document and visa type on the portal. No more information is required than for a paper application, there is no need to present originals at a mission, and the e-visa gives the same entry right as a visa in the passport. Each traveller needs a separate e-visa, including infants and children recorded in a parent's passport.

Passports must remain valid for at least six months after the end of the requested Kyrgyz visa, contain at least two blank pages and be undamaged, without unofficial marks. Supporting documents must be in Kyrgyz or Russian or translated into one of these languages.

Applications on evisa.e-gov.kg are completed in English with scanned passport pages and a digital photo, and paid by card, which need not be in the applicant's name. Review takes five working days from the moment the application is complete. Fees depend on visa category, type and period and are not refunded after a refusal or for unused visas.

After the first step, a verification e-mail must be confirmed within 72 hours or the application is cancelled. Data can be checked and corrected at the preview step; after payment it cannot be changed and a new application is needed. If the system returns an application, the applicant corrects the lines marked in red via the status check and resubmits.

The portal distinguishes validity, the first and last dates on which the visa can be used, from duration of stay, the number of days you may remain within that validity. The visa expires on the last day of validity. Applicants are advised not to buy air tickets until the e-visa approval has been received.

After arrival, foreigners must register at their place of stay within five working days, unless their country is on the government list of nationalities exempted from registration for a stated period.
