Guinea e-visa: entry (tourist) visa via the DCPAF platform

In short

Guinea's entry visa is requested online on the border police (DCPAF) platform. Once approved, you receive an Entry Visa Letter by email and the visa is issued at the arrival counter after a photo and fingerprints are taken. For most nationalities it is valid for up to 90 days and costs USD 100.

Who needs it

Any foreigner whose country is not on the border police waiver list needs a visa. The 21 visa-free countries are mainly Guinea's West African neighbours, together with Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Namibia, Rwanda, Singapore and Tunisia. Everyone else, including holders of European and American passports, applies on the platform before travelling.

What to upload and what to carry

The online application needs a valid passport or travel document, a scan of its data page, a valid return ticket and a yellow fever certificate. At the Guinean entry checkpoint you show a passport valid for more than six months, the Entry Visa Letter, enough funds for the stay in cash, traveller's cheques or cards, the return ticket and proof of accommodation.

Fees

The platform's fee table sets the standard entry visa at USD 100, with reciprocity amounts of USD 250 for Turkish, USD 185 for American and USD 150 for British passports. Transit and transshipment visas, valid for up to three days, cost USD 50. Payment is online, and the amount is retained by the administration even if the visa is refused.

How the procedure works

Select the issuing country of your travel document on the platform to see whether you need a visa, then complete the form and upload the documents. An acknowledgement email confirms the submission. When the authority approves the request, it emails the Entry Visa Letter. On arrival you go to the visa-on-arrival counter, where your photo and fingerprints are captured and the visa is issued. Approval is not automatic: the authority may refuse the request.

  1. Check on the platform whether your passport's issuing country needs a visa.
  2. Create the application on the DCPAF platform, which supports Chrome or Internet Explorer 9 and above.
  3. Fill in the online form, upload the passport scan, ticket and yellow fever certificate, and pay.
  4. Wait for the acknowledgement email and then the Entry Visa Letter.
  5. Travel with the letter, funds, return ticket and proof of accommodation.
  6. At the arrival counter, give your photo and fingerprints and receive the visa.

Transit and transshipment visas

Travellers who only pass through Guinea use the transit visa or the transshipment visa instead of the entry visa. Both are valid for no more than three days and cost USD 50 each on the platform fee table. They are requested on the same DCPAF platform with a passport or travel document, a scan of its data page, a valid return ticket and a yellow fever certificate, and they follow the same route: acknowledgement email, Entry Visa Letter after approval, then biometrics and issue at the visa-on-arrival counter. At the checkpoint you show a passport valid for more than six months, the letter, sufficient funds and the return ticket.

Refusals and official passports

Submitting an online application does not by itself entitle you to a visa: the authority may accept or reject it, and the amount paid covers administrative processing, so it is kept even when the visa is denied. Holders of diplomatic and service passports, and courtesy visa applicants, use a separate track (VDSC): they first request a security code, which is emailed once the authority approves, then submit the visa application with that code, a passport valid for at least six months, a scan of the data page, an appointment letter and a yellow fever certificate. The validity of these visas is the one stated in the official approval letter.

Status checks and support

The platform lets applicants edit a submitted application and check its status online. Questions and complaints about online applications go to the support address support@paf.gov.gn.
