How visas for Guinea work
Every foreign national needs a visa to enter the Republic of Guinea unless their country is on the waiver list kept by the Central Directorate of the Border Police (DCPAF), which runs the online visa platform for the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection. On the platform's country list, the visa-free nationalities are Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Morocco, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Togo and Tunisia.
Visas are requested online. After approval the applicant receives an Entry Visa Letter by email, and the visa itself is issued at the visa-on-arrival counter at the border, where a photo and fingerprints are taken. The platform offers a tourist (entry) visa, a transit visa and a transshipment visa of up to three days, a long-stay visa (VLS) valid for one year, and a separate track for diplomatic, service and courtesy visas.
Fees are paid online and are kept by the administration even when a visa is refused. The standard entry visa fee is USD 100, with higher reciprocity rates for some passports: USD 250 for Türkiye, USD 185 for the United States and USD 150 for the United Kingdom. A yellow fever certificate is part of every application.
