Greece: visa decisions in Vietnam

YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 1,3351,235806.1% 29.2%
2024 1,4231,321795.6% 25.8%
2025 1,5921,495744.7% 15.1%

In 2025, Greece’s embassy and consulates in Vietnam (Hanoi) received 1,592 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,495. The refusal rate was 4.7%. That is barely different from 2024 (5.6%). Applications rose by 12% compared with 2024 (1,423).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 9.4% of the applications lodged in Vietnam that year, from 3.6% at the consulates of Poland to 20.8% at those of Finland. Greece’s consulates worldwide refused 14.5%. Greece was the 12th most applied-for Schengen state in Vietnam.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Vietnam, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
