Greece: visa decisions in Thailand
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 1,903 | 1,803 | 85 | 4.5% | 29.5% |
| 2024 | 1,824 | 1,733 | 88 | 4.8% | 25.6% |
| 2025 | 1,881 | 1,782 | 97 | 5.2% | 21.4% |
In 2025, Greece’s embassy and consulates in Thailand (Bangkok) received 1,881 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,782. The refusal rate was 5.2%. That is barely different from 2024 (4.8%). Applications rose by 3% compared with 2024 (1,824).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.9% of the applications lodged in Thailand that year, from 2.0% at the consulates of Romania to 28.7% at those of Poland. Greece’s consulates worldwide refused 14.5%. Greece was the 16th most applied-for Schengen state in Thailand.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Thailand, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
