Italy: visa decisions in Singapore

YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 3,7223,657641.7% 59.0%
2024 4,0323,987451.1% 51.3%
2025 4,5904,550400.9% 17.3%

In 2025, Italy’s embassy and consulates in Singapore (Singapore) received 4,590 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 4,550. The refusal rate was 0.9%. That is barely different from 2024 (1.1%). Applications rose by 14% compared with 2024 (4,032).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.1% of the applications lodged in Singapore that year, from 0.4% at the consulates of Belgium to 10.3% at those of the Netherlands. Italy’s consulates worldwide refused 10.8%. Italy was the 4th most applied-for Schengen state in Singapore.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Singapore, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
