Greece: visa decisions in Serbia

YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 298276175.7% 55.4%
2024 668643142.1% 54.6%
2025 1,0371,020111.1% 60.1%

In 2025, Greece’s embassy and consulates in Serbia (Belgrade) received 1,037 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,020. 1.1% of applications were refused. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 2.1%. Applications rose by 55% compared with 2024 (668).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.7% of the applications lodged in Serbia that year. Greece’s consulates worldwide refused 14.5%. Greece was the 10th most applied-for Schengen state in Serbia.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Serbia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
