2024 33,07130,2172,6288.0% 27.3%
2025 33,87631,1942,6677.9% 28.6%

In 2025, France’s embassy and consulates in the Philippines (Manila) received 33,876 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 31,194. 7.9% of applications were refused. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 8.0%. The number of applications was almost unchanged (33,071 in 2024).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 6.9% of the applications lodged in the Philippines that year, from 3.8% at the consulates of the Netherlands to 22.3% at those of the Czech Republic. France’s consulates worldwide refused 14.2%. France was the 2nd most applied-for Schengen state in the Philippines.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in the Philippines, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
