Poland: visa decisions in Peru
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 74 | 36 | 38 | 51.4% | 5.6% |
| 2024 | 63 | 26 | 37 | 58.7% | 23.1% |
| 2025 | 53 | 36 | 16 | 30.8% | 22.2% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Peru (Lima) received 53 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 36. The refusal rate was 30.8%. The refusal rate fell by 28.0 points from 58.7% in 2024, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications fell by 16% compared with 2024 (63).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 16.9% of the applications lodged in Peru that year. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 9th most applied-for Schengen state in Peru.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Peru, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
