Poland: visa decisions in New Zealand
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 47 | 46 | 1 | 2.1% | 6.5% |
| 2024 | 64 | 62 | 1 | 1.6% | 0.0% |
| 2025 | 60 | 54 | 5 | 8.5% | 3.7% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in New Zealand (Wellington) received 60 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 54. 8.5% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 1.6%: the rate rose by 6.9 points, a sharp increase. Applications fell by 6% compared with 2024 (64).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 4.6% of the applications lodged in New Zealand that year, from 0.5% at the consulates of France to 9.0% at those of the Netherlands. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 7th most applied-for Schengen state in New Zealand.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in New Zealand, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
