Poland: visa decisions in Malaysia
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 67 | 57 | 10 | 14.9% | 8.8% |
| 2024 | 81 | 69 | 12 | 14.8% | 7.2% |
| 2025 | 113 | 109 | 3 | 2.7% | 10.1% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) received 113 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 109. 2.7% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 14.8%: the rate fell by 12.2 points, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications rose by 40% compared with 2024 (81).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 30.8% of the applications lodged in Malaysia that year, from 0.3% at the consulates of Austria to 61.5% at those of the Netherlands. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 11th most applied-for Schengen state in Malaysia.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Malaysia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
