In fiscal year 2025 (October 2024 to September 2025) the United States issued 2,899 nonimmigrant visas to citizens of Lithuania, the 128th highest number of the 206 nationalities listed. Exchange visitor visas (J) made up 33%, work and treaty visas 19% and visitor visas 19%. That is 3% fewer than in fiscal year 2024 (2,974).
From October 2025 to February 2026, citizens of Lithuania received 799, 13% fewer than in the same months a year earlier.
For visitor visas (B1/B2) the State Department reports an adjusted refusal rate of 21.3% for citizens of Lithuania in fiscal year 2025 (fiscal year 2024: 21.0%). The adjusted rate counts a refusal that was later overcome, for example with further documents, as an issuance. A rate below 3% is one of the conditions for a country to join the Visa Waiver Program.
