Croatia: visa decisions in India
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2,154 | 1,466 | 569 | 27.6% | 79.3% |
| 2024 | 2,315 | 1,676 | 606 | 26.5% | 76.6% |
| 2025 | 2,615 | 1,721 | 709 | 29.2% | 80.5% |
In 2025, Croatia’s embassy and consulates in India (New Delhi) received 2,615 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,721. The refusal rate was 29.2%. The refusal rate rose by 2.6 points from 26.5% in 2024. Applications rose by 13% compared with 2024 (2,315).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 15.8% of the applications lodged in India that year, from 7.1% at the consulates of Denmark to 46.5% at those of Slovenia. Croatia’s consulates worldwide refused 18.5%. Croatia was the 23rd most applied-for Schengen state in India.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in India, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
