Czech Republic: visa decisions in Georgia
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 135 | 80 | 55 | 40.7% | 38.8% |
| 2024 | 91 | 70 | 21 | 23.1% | 71.4% |
| 2025 | 74 | 50 | 24 | 32.4% | 34.0% |
In 2025, the Czech Republic’s embassy and consulates in Georgia (Tbilisi) received 74 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 50. The refusal rate was 32.4%. The refusal rate rose by 9.4 points from 23.1% in 2024, a sharp increase. Applications fell by 19% compared with 2024 (91).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 13.8% of the applications lodged in Georgia that year, from 3.1% at the consulates of the Netherlands to 33.9% at those of Italy. the Czech Republic’s consulates worldwide refused 14.2%. The Czech Republic was the 14th most applied-for Schengen state in Georgia.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Georgia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
