Greece: visa decisions in Canada
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 1,075 | 1,046 | 13 | 1.2% | 52.4% |
| 2024 | 1,316 | 1,306 | 5 | 0.4% | 49.7% |
| 2025 | 1,341 | 1,310 | 22 | 1.6% | 54.0% |
In 2025, Greece’s embassy and consulates in Canada (Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Montreal) received 1,341 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,310. The refusal rate was 1.6%. That is barely different from 2024 (0.4%). The number of applications was almost unchanged (1,316 in 2024).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 9.0% of the applications lodged in Canada that year. Greece’s consulates worldwide refused 14.5%. Greece was the 9th most applied-for Schengen state in Canada.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Canada, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
