Poland: visa decisions in Australia
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 149 | 148 | 0 | 0.0% | 45.9% |
| 2024 | 147 | 139 | 4 | 2.8% | 25.9% |
| 2025 | 165 | 154 | 11 | 6.6% | 32.5% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Australia (Sydney) received 165 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 154. 6.6% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 2.8%: the rate rose by 3.8 points. Applications rose by 12% compared with 2024 (147).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 3.0% of the applications lodged in Australia that year, from 0.6% at the consulates of Switzerland to 8.8% at those of the Netherlands. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 13th most applied-for Schengen state in Australia.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Australia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
