France: visa decisions in Albania
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 97 | 92 | 7 | 7.1% | 13.0% |
| 2024 | 106 | 98 | 5 | 4.8% | 9.2% |
| 2025 | 121 | 115 | 3 | 2.5% | 2.6% |
In 2025, France’s embassy and consulates in Albania (Tirana) received 121 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 115. The refusal rate was 2.5%. The refusal rate fell by 2.3 points from 4.8% in 2024. Applications rose by 14% compared with 2024 (106).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.4% of the applications lodged in Albania that year. France’s consulates worldwide refused 14.2%. France was the 6th most applied-for Schengen state in Albania.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Albania, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
