Who needs a transit visa

Documents for a transit visa
The checklist published by the Turkmen embassy in Ankara asks for a petition addressed to the Consular Department, a colour copy of a passport valid for at least six months, proof of legal stay for applicants who are not nationals of the country where they apply, copies of the visas of the countries you will enter and leave through along the route, a completed personal information form and a completed visa application form, with a colour copy sent to the Consular Department. All copies must be on A4 paper.

Planning the route
Because the Embassy asks for the visas of the countries on either side of Turkmenistan, travellers should obtain those first and plan to cross within five days.

- Submit colour copies on A4 paper at the Turkmen embassy or consulate.

- Cross Turkmenistan within five days per transit.
Processing
Consular actions are carried out within 10 calendar days of receipt of the documents. Urgent processing within 3 working days, and services outside working hours, at weekends or on holidays, cost 100 percent more. Payment is due when the documents are submitted.
