Serbia e-Visa and digital travel authorisation
Electronic visa application and digital travel authorisation
In short
Serbia accepts visa applications online on the Welcome to Serbia portal (evisa.welcometoserbia.gov.rs), after registration on the eID portal. Since 23 April 2025 the foreign ministry issues some visas as a digital travel authorisation, an electronic document with QR codes, to nationalities for which the service is enabled; others still receive a sticker. Visa-exempt nationals need no visa for short stays.

Who uses the online application
The Welcome to Serbia portal is the government’s single portal for foreigners. Anyone who needs a Serbian visa C or D can file the application there instead of at an embassy, provided they are at least 18 and have registered on the electronic identification portal eid.gov.rs. Applications for minors are filed only in person. Employers with the role "Working with Foreign Citizens" on eUprava can file D visa applications for employment on behalf of workers, also in groups.
Since 23 April 2025 Serbia also issues visas in electronic form as digital travel authorisations. They go to nationals of countries for which the service is enabled, if conditions of low risk of irregular migration, visa reciprocity and protection of Serbia’s security are met; otherwise the applicant receives a visa sticker in the passport. The foreign ministry does not publish the list of eligible nationalities on the page checked, so the portal shows what applies to you.
Fees
The portal states EUR 90 for a visa C and EUR 50 for a visa D, charged in dinars at the middle exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia. Holders of passports of China, Armenia, Mali and Syria are exempt under bilateral agreements; the portal’s application instructions also list Pakistan among the exempt passports.
Filing step by step
After logging in, you start an application and choose the travel purpose, which determines the following questions. You enter personal, family and employment data, then passport data; the document must be valid at least three months after the intended stay. Next come the visa requested, previous stays in Serbia and the planned stay. Documents are uploaded in the allowed formats, each up to 5 MB. After giving consent you pay; the request reaches the competent authority only once the payment is recorded. Payments made outside the portal are not taken into account and no payment confirmation is issued.
The status is shown under "my requests" on evisa.welcometoserbia.gov.rs, and notices come to the email address of your account. If the authority asks for more documents, the status changes to "being supplemented" and you upload them on the portal; only in that status can data be corrected. A submitted request cannot be cancelled online.

Receiving and using the visa
If you receive a digital travel authorisation, it carries an electronic seal of the foreign ministry, a QR code for checking validity on evisa.welcometoserbia.gov.rs/check-digital-travel-authorization and a second QR code read by border police. If a sticker is issued, you contact the mission named in the application to arrange how your passport reaches it; in some cases you must come in person. At the border the usual entry conditions apply, including EUR 50 per day, and your stay must be registered within 24 hours.
