How visas for Niger work
A visa is required to enter Niger except for citizens of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and of certain states with which Niger has agreements abolishing short-stay visas. Visas are applied for at Niger's embassies before travel, and each embassy sets out its own documents, fees and opening hours.
Each embassy publishes its own procedure. The embassy in Copenhagen serves Nordic citizens and residents, and also some other applicants because several Niger embassies are not currently issuing visas; it charges DKK 550 for single entry and DKK 850 for multiple entries, paid by bank transfer, and processes files sent by email or post in two phases.
Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required on entry to Niger. Some embassies require supporting documents written in a language other than French to be translated into French by an approved translator, so check the instructions of the embassy that will handle your file.
