Permanent Residence

In short

Permanent residence lets a foreign national live and work in Jamaica without restrictions on their stay and without a work permit, though without the constitutional rights of a citizen. PICA accepts applications in five categories: employment for people who have worked in Jamaica for more than three years, retirement, marriage to a Jamaican, dependants of permanent residents and former holders of unconditional landing by marriage. The fee is JM$100,000, applicants are interviewed, and processing usually takes three to six months.

PICA does not publish a minimum income for the retirement category; applicants show their financial status and means of support, for example pension details and bank statements.
