Who can apply
The portal states that all nationalities can apply for the e-visa and that it is the approved and official method of applying for a visa. Everyone entering Equatorial Guinea, including children and infants, must hold a visa. People with several nationalities, none of them Equatoguinean, choose one passport, apply with it and travel on that same passport.
Three categories are listed: tourist visa, business visa and visits to family or friends. The e-visa can only be used when arriving at Malabo International Airport.

Fees and payment
The e-visa fee is USD 50 and the service fee USD 25 excluding taxes, the same for every age. Payment is the last step, online in US dollars with a 3D Secure MasterCard, Visa or UnionPay card enabled for international transactions; the card does not have to be in the applicant's name. A confirmation email follows the payment.
Visa and service fees are not refunded in any circumstances, including refusal or duplicate applications; only a duplicate charge for a single transaction is examined. Do not start a new application or pay again unless the help desk advises it.
How to apply
Register with your email address, complete the application form, answer the questions, upload the documents and pay. If the immigration authority needs more documents, you receive a request by email and only your file is paused until you reply; family members' files continue.
When the decision is made you receive a PDF by email, which you can also download from your account. Approved applicants download and print the approval letter and present it at the port of entry to receive the visa stamp. You do not send your passport anywhere before travelling.
- Register on the official Equatorial Guinea e-visa portal with your email address.
- Choose the tourist, business or family and friends category and complete the form exactly as in your passport.
- Upload the passport pages, photo, accommodation proof, insurance, bank statement, yellow fever certificate, return ticket and category documents.
- Pay USD 50 plus the USD 25 service fee online by card and keep the confirmation email.
- Watch your email for requests for extra documents and for the decision, normally within 24 to 72 hours.
- Print the approval letter, fly to Malabo International Airport and get the visa stamp at the visa desk.
Processing time
With complete documents, approval normally arrives 24 to 72 hours after payment. If processing exceeds 72 hours and your travel date is near, or if it exceeds five working days, contact the help desk. If you cannot provide requested additional documents in time, the immigration authority decides on the documents already submitted.
Arriving at Malabo
Carry a passport valid at least 180 days from the expected date of entry with at least one blank page, a copy of the e-visa, proof of stay such as a hotel voucher or proof of family residence, the yellow fever certificate and your return ticket. Officers may ask for further documents, so keep them ready.
At the airport, follow the dedicated visa lane to the visa desk, present your passport, e-visa and proof of stay, complete a retina scan and receive the visa stamp. The visa does not guarantee entry; the final decision belongs to the immigration officer.
Refusals
Decisions are at the sole discretion of the immigration authority, which gives the reason in the letter sent to you by email. You can reapply online with complete documents. If one family member is refused, the others can still travel with their approved e-visas.
