How visas for Cuba work
Cuban visas are issued by Cuba's embassies and consulates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), and visas processed by Cuban bodies go through the Directorate of Immigration and Foreigners. Tourist visas are now electronic: travellers apply on the official e-visa portal, receive a visa code by email within 72 working hours, and the e-visa is linked to their passport.
Visas other than the tourist e-visa, such as family, business, journalist, student or event visas, are requested through the Cuban embassy or consulate that serves your place of residence. Consular services can usually be requested in person or by post, and each consular office sets how its fees are paid, whether in cash, by certified bank payment or by bank transfer.
