Cameroon express visa: the official 24-hour procedure
Express visa procedure (procédure expresse) – short-stay express visa
In short
Cameroon's only official priority service is the express procedure written into Decree No. 2023/147: the competent mission decides within 24 hours instead of three days. It is sold on evisacam.cm as the short-stay express visa at 150,000 XAF, against 100,000 XAF for the ordinary short stay; the Washington mission lists the long-stay express option as withdrawn.

Price comparison
Ordinary short stay: 100,000 XAF, three days. Express short stay: 150,000 XAF, 24 hours. Missions display the converted amounts: London EUR 153 and EUR 229, Washington USD 181.82 and USD 272.73. Payment is by Visa or Mastercard on evisacam.cm; there is no separate express counter at the missions and no third-party premium service recognised by MINREX.
What 24 hours means in practice
The clock starts with a complete, paid application. A file put On Hold for a missing or unreadable document stops until you correct it, and the express fee does not protect against refusal or refund. Missions count their timelines without weekends and public holidays in both countries, as the Washington mission explains. After approval you still need either a biometric appointment at the mission, if you live in its city, or the QR authorisation for enrolment at the border, so applicants who live in the mission's city should leave time for that appointment even on the express track.
What the express procedure speeds up
Article 29 of the decree sets the normal deadline for the mission to issue the visa or the online visa authorisation at three days from online pre-enrolment, and reduces it to 24 hours under an express procedure. MINREX implements this with a priced option: the six-month short-stay express visa at 150,000 XAF instead of 100,000 XAF. The express option buys a faster decision only. The documents, the DGSN security check, the biometric enrolment and the sticker are the same as for the ordinary visa, and the validity is not longer.
MINREX's page still shows a long-stay express visa at 200,000 XAF from its first tariff, but the Washington mission's January 2026 instructions mark the long-stay express visa as suppressed, and the 2024 finance ordinance (No. 2024/001) sets 200,000 XAF for the ordinary long-stay visa. In practice, plan long stays with the ordinary three-day timeline and check on the portal whether an express long-stay option is offered.

Frequently asked questions
Is the express visa valid longer than the ordinary one?
No. Both are short-stay visas valid for up to six months; the express fee only shortens the decision time from three days to 24 hours.
Is there an express long-stay visa?
The Washington mission's 2026 table lists it as suppressed, while MINREX's page still shows an older 200,000 XAF express long-stay price. Check the portal when applying.
Do I get my money back if the express visa is late or refused?
Missions state that visa fees are non-refundable, including after a refusal. They do not publish a refund rule for delays.
