Schengen consulates in Oman received 53,700 short-stay visa applications in 2025, and issued 47,255 visas. 10.5% of applications were refused (worldwide: 14.6%). In 2024 the rate was much the same, 9.7%. Applications rose by 22% compared with 2024 (44,130).
Most applications went to France (13,125), the Netherlands (9,726), Spain (9,539) and Germany (9,536).
Among the states with at least 500 applications, the lowest refusal rate was Austria’s (3.7%) and the highest Spain’s (16.6%). The sharpest rise since 2024 was at the consulates of Spain (+5.4 points).
Bulgaria and Romania began issuing Schengen visas on 31 March 2024, so their 2024 figures cover part of the year. The numbers include every nationality applying in Oman.
