Slovenia: visa decisions in Turkey
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2,671 | 2,123 | 520 | 19.6% | 98.4% |
| 2024 | 5,016 | 3,622 | 1,403 | 27.8% | 99.8% |
| 2025 | 5,890 | 4,814 | 1,030 | 17.6% | 99.9% |
In 2025, Slovenia’s embassy and consulates in Turkey (Ankara) received 5,890 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 4,814. 17.6% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 27.8%: the rate fell by 10.3 points, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications rose by 17% compared with 2024 (5,016).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 14.6% of the applications lodged in Turkey that year, from 3.5% at the consulates of Portugal to 35.5% at those of Lithuania. Slovenia’s consulates worldwide refused 21.4%. Slovenia was the 19th most applied-for Schengen state in Turkey.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Turkey, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
