2025 33,42030,8472,5737.7% 53.2%

In 2025, Norway’s embassy and consulates in Thailand (Bangkok) received 33,420 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 30,847. The refusal rate was 7.7%. That is barely different from 2024 (8.1%). Applications rose by 10% compared with 2024 (30,359).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.9% of the applications lodged in Thailand that year, from 2.0% at the consulates of Romania to 28.7% at those of Poland. Norway’s consulates worldwide refused 15.7%. Norway was the 4th most applied-for Schengen state in Thailand.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Thailand, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
