Belgium: visa decisions in Taiwan
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 29 | 26 | 3 | 10.3% | 53.8% |
| 2024 | 34 | 32 | 2 | 5.9% | 68.8% |
| 2025 | 35 | 34 | 1 | 2.9% | 91.2% |
In 2025, Belgium’s embassy and consulates in Taiwan (Taipei) received 35 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 34. 2.9% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 5.9%: the rate fell by 3.0 points. Applications rose by 3% compared with 2024 (34).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 6.5% of the applications lodged in Taiwan that year. Belgium’s consulates worldwide refused 26.1%. Belgium was the 10th most applied-for Schengen state in Taiwan.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Taiwan, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
