In fiscal year 2025 (October 2024 to September 2025) the United States issued 3,749 nonimmigrant visas to citizens of Slovakia, the 116th highest number of the 206 nationalities listed. Exchange visitor visas (J) made up 45%, visitor visas 25% and work and treaty visas 10%. That is 8% fewer than in fiscal year 2024 (4,083).
From October 2025 to February 2026, citizens of Slovakia received 1,139, 32% more than in the same months a year earlier.
For visitor visas (B1/B2) the State Department reports an adjusted refusal rate of 14.3% for citizens of Slovakia in fiscal year 2025 (fiscal year 2024: 11.6%). The adjusted rate counts a refusal that was later overcome, for example with further documents, as an issuance. A rate below 3% is one of the conditions for a country to join the Visa Waiver Program.
These figures count visas issued to citizens of Slovakia anywhere in the world, not only at the US missions in Slovakia.
